Motocycle title re-registration?

I am needing some information on getting a new title for a motorcycle, I bought it and there wasn't a title on it, it has been wrecked. Not sure if the title is salvaged. Help!!

You'll need to have the person sign a release & a form for transfer of title. If this person was never on the title then do not involve them & you need to find the previous owner of title. In the future you'll find that buying a vehicle without title is not worth it!

If it's salvaged you'll need to re-apply for a title which in CA. requires brake check & headlight adjustment/certification by a state certified station. It's all a pain but quite possible if you're patient.

Copy down the VIN and go see if it is stolen. hahahaha

I hope it is not but......if it is not then you can get a COPY of the current title and have the old owner sign it..... or you can use a BILL OF SALE, but really the old owner route will be easiest.

you might find out that the title has a LIEN ON IT, from a bank, in which case you need to get your money back form the person you got it from......

NEVER SPEND MONEY on something you don't have the title to.......

properly what you may desire to do, is pass to the DMV and ask them, for papers and further with the owner which you will sell it to, then while your finished, look up on line the comparable form of automobile and what that is going for, and sell it for one hundred-500 greenbacks greater low priced on ebay or so. stable success wish you sell the motor vehicle :)
