I heard that currently every foreigner needs a visa to enter China due to the Olympics. When will it end?

I trying to ask when will I NOT need to apply for a visa to enter China? 1st Oct,2008? Or Mid-September? Anybody sure of this issue? (Provide link if possible, thanks)

Update:

As far as I know... I do not need a visa to enter China if traveling less then 15days. But currently due to Olympics, we need to apply for this period. My Question is.... When do I NOT need to apply it? When will this olympic period end? Because I plan to enter China on Mid-October

Update 2:

By the way... I don't hold a Chinese passport... If not, I won't be asking such question right?

And this is a genuine question for my information...

Update 3:

To: "New I Hate Commies", why do you wanna visit this section at all???

To: "Kingston D" Thanks for the info....

All visitors that are foreigners in nature need to apply for visa with no exception until 17 October 2008 or further notice.

Wrong. Not every foreigner needs a visa. With a Japan or Brunei passport you can enter China without visa.

Other countries need a visa now, before and after. So no matter what, you will need a visa.

Not sure what country you are a citizen of, but most (or all) foreign nationals have alwasy needed and probably will always need a visa to visit China. You should check the website for the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country for specific details.

I will go to China after the Olympics, the Olympics are not interesting to me, but China is...government and ppl are two different things. Every time I have went to China, I have had to obtain a VISA...China feels that foreigners go there to investigate and smear....But that is a poor stereotype of China

If I reminder correctly your Chinese so you don't need a visa.

*sigh* do you how a Chinese ID card then.... Or a Hong Kong permit,

If your don't have a Chinese passport or ID card or Hong Kong permit (or what its called) or you are from one of the visa wavier countries then yes you will need a visa to enter the country, no matter what.
