CONFUSED..possibly moving out of town!!!?
Okay, so chances are i'll probably be moving out of town in a couple of weeks to Miami Florida, from Minnesota. I'm 18 and ready to start living basically on my own, i'll be staying with a long time friend i knew since i was about 14 or 15. but i'm scared to talk to my parents about it..i just want them to be okay with whatever decision i make, whether its moving or staying. and another thing is i'm the type of person that is really scared to change whether for good or bad....i don't know how to feel right now..i have so many mixed emotions about the whole situation. Well, i guess what i'm asking is..does anyone have any advice for me or food for thought about my decision to leave???? Thankx!

I first want to congratulate you on at least having the nerve to decide on such a major change. Many teens will sponge off their parents forever. That you have decided to move on and begin life in such an adventurous way is fantastic.
I am like you...I get scared with change. I almost have panic attacks but I ventured off when I was just out of high school and moved 2 states away and knew no one. I blossomed and never regretted it.
The fact that you have someone in Florida you know is a huge bonus. Be sure to pick a quiet time and sit down with your parents and tell them your plan rationally. Be ready for them to ask you many questions and just be ready to answer them intelligently. Have your plan laid out to knock down any argument they bring up.
