I've been to hong kong 3 times this year for work and we always make time to shop! I work in the fashion industry so it goes with the job!

Try to avoid the huge commercial malls, go for the the little stores because that's we're you'll find the good bargains."

"In Fashion"- there is no sign on the building. It's in tsimshatsui in the major market/business area. I have their business card and that's the only way I can find it! G/F No.53 Hankow Road, tsimshatsui, kowloon. It's the best place for tops, sweaters, and scarves. Practically everything is $5 (US) each. No discounts at this store. There are some other cute shops on this street too...bargain with them for lower prices. Just ask around for hankow road...all I can say is that it's around the corner from mcdonalds. You have to dig through the racks, but you will find some hidden gems. I get compliments on everything I buy from there.

The ladies market is good, just very crowded an the store spaces are tight. You will find great fashion pieces there!

If you have time and have a china visa, take the train to shenzhen. It's about 1.5 hours away by train. Across the street is a huge shopping mall. This place is infamous for really good handbags and fashion. Just be careful with the fake bags because you will get questioned by customs... The little boutiques also sell the leftovers from the factories. I had no idea, but I found a $400 sweater from a japanese designer that I bought for $40US. I travelled with a designer so she guided through the stores since I don't have a clue about the hip clothing lines(?). Most of these stores will only carry one size or one piece of each style so you have to hunt and pick. You need a good 4+ hours to really get through the mall. Here is an address: shop 3072-3/F, Luohu Commercial City Shenzhen.

Check out this website to help you with the train and it tells you how to get to the mall: http://www.hkstreet.com/story0101j.htm All I can say is that this is the best place ever. Watch your purse. If possible try to use cash as it's easier to bargain with. There are ATM machines everywhere. I personally don't like to use credit cards in asia because the register prints your credit card # on the receipt!

If you want trinkets souvenirs try the Temple Night Market. You will also get to see local life here too. It closes at midnight. Try this website for directions: http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/attraction/at_...

The train station is very close and within walking distance. It's also safe...I was by myself and was perfectly fine.

Also check out the citysuper stores. I always load up on beauty products, tweezers, and face masks there. There are some interesting products that you will never see in the states!

Those are all of my secrets...I hoped this helped...have fun~

Source(s): I was dragged all over hong kong by some crazy fashion designers. Since I only go to HK for work I only know where to shop....no time for sight seeing!

I loved my visit to Macau over the summer. It was so much fun.

First of all, if you are staying in any hotels, be sure to stay at the Venetian Hotel. It's a really fancy Hotel who is owned by a casino owner in Las Vegas. And did I mention that the Venetian Hotel is also a casino? If you are under 21, dont bother getting in.

Second: While you are at the Venetian Hotel, dont be afraid to explore the hotel a little. Many shops are there waiting for you. Cosmetics and clothing stores. And be sure to visit the food station their. There is Chinese food and nearly all the countries you can think of. So try them all, if you can. LOL

Third: There is a street that has hundreds of shops there. But sadly I couldn't read chinese, so I dont know what the street name is. Sorry. But if you find that street, shop there.

Last but not least. If you are thinking of visiting Macau's oldest sights, be sure to visit this temple that use to be a church. This church got burned down all the way to the ground, and the only remaining of the church was the big wall on the front. You enter that, go into this room, it's a big rock that ppl thought it had many powers. And if you arent afraid, there is little windows up against the walls that in each window, it has the skull and some bones from the preist who use to be there in that church.

So this is as much as I saw during my 1 day visit to Macau! So enjoy your trip to Macau/HongKong/China! I promise you, you would enjoy your stay there. No dought.

You have gotten a lot of great shopping info already, but I wanted to give you another bit of advice. Make sure that you have a card or paper with the address of the place you are staying on it and practice saying clearly. While HK is very cosmopolitan there are still many people that speak and understand very little English. Many taxi drivers will not understand you and it is terrifying to be out somewhere and then not be able to make yourself understood well enough to get 'home'. Also, take some sort of large tote bag to use when shopping. You will be using buses or taxis ( I'm assuming) and it is easy to leave something behind if you have many bags you are carrying. Additionally, just to be on the safe side carry some toilet paper with you as many public toilets do not provide it. Most of all just enjoy HK it is an amazing and breathtaking city. If you can take a boat ride around the harbor at night. The lights are so amazing. It is one of my fondest memories of my many stays in HK. P.S. make sure you have some super comfortable shoes too. Asians are used to walking a lot and things are not as conveniently located esp. in the New Territories areas or around the harbor.

It truly relies upon on what you pick to make certain. i'm undecided what you advise by using "outdoors of the area." Macau is a relaxing weekend holiday with playing, exhibits, and food (form of like a Las Vegas of the East). Macau is quite on the brink of Hong Kong, approximately an hour ferry holiday. Taiwan is a speedy flight far flung from Hong Kong the place food is decrease priced (besides the incontrovertible fact that different than food i've got no longer heard too many different reasons to flow to...different than the organic springs.) you ought to hit up the mainland of China and flow to Guangzhou, the capital or Guangdong, or the different factors interior the southern area of China. Hainan is likewise a nicely-liked trip spot. it rather is supposedly a stunning island with luxury lodges.

The Ladies Market along with Temple St market at Yau Ma Tei offer great experience. Remember to bargain. Also, beware of pickpocket.

Yes the markets are great so are the shops. but take the cable car sky ride at Lantau Island. It's fabulous goes over all these mountains to a beautiful village and Monastry and The big Buddha. I think the rides about 20 mins one way and rather cheap . Well worth it unless the weather is bad then you won't see a lot.

When you guys go to Macau. Be sure to go to the Venetian hotel. Since you love shopping, the Venetian mall inside the hotel is the perfect spot for you.The mall is very big and it even has a canal in it. It has many brand name stores such as Lacoste or even Hong Kong brand stores like Bossini or g2000.
