Why do people take the time to ask questions on here...?

Why do some people take the time to log into yahoo, come here, and pose a question who's answer can be found so easily with a quick search on Yahoo or Google? For examlpe: What is the meaning of the name Sarah? I need a list of exotic flowers.

Do they not know how do a search? Sarah "meaning of" or "exotic flowers" list

Drives me crazy people take the time to ask these things but are too lazy to actually try to look for the answer themselves.

Update:

Everyone's answers are appreciated, however, this question wasn't answerable on the net... yes, I googled it first :) And I agree with people wanting various answers, advice and such... It's the simply found answers that I wonder about (again, such as meanings of baby names and such).

I think it's because most people would rather feel like they're talking to some one instead of researching. Talking is probably more fun. This site is so badly abused as more of chat site than a helpful place to ask a question if you can't find the answer elsewhere. And what drives me even more crazy is that they don't bother to choose a BA.

I am one of those asker-holics

I usually post questions asking for advice or opinions...something you can't neccessarily find on google

I also find it much safer to read answers on here than looking through spam-infested sites on the web

I do agree that people who ask questions (such as baby name meanings) are either too old to know what google is or that they're simply too lazy. I especially hate the "can you do my homework?" ones

(Although one time I did that too..but I really didn't understand the topic and I just wanted helped)

Anyway to answer your question it's either because of laziness or the need of advice/opinions. Sometimes it's harder to phrase your question into a search rather than ask a question with as much detail as you want.

Because not every question that is asked on this site may be a popular or researchable topic. Not everybody asks stupid questions like "what is the meaning of Sarah?" Some questions involve asking what an experience was like and a lot of people come here for advice on a lot of different topics.
