bread keeps for a few days after it expires. If it is not hard or have a strong "yest" smell to it, eat it.

You can toast it if it is a little stale.

Stick it in your fridge. As long as there are now fuzzy spots (pick those off), bread is fine until fuzzy or hard. Keeping it in the fridge prolongs the life of the loaf.

It might still be good. Look for mold. If it is mold free, use it for toast, or French Toast, or dry it in an oven for breadcrumbs. I freeze bread in plastic bags to preserve it, and only use it when I want it.

Most food is okay after its expiration date, that's the date that retailers can't sell it to you past.

It would probably be a bit stale though.

The worst thing you would get on bread is a bit of mould.

    Mmmm... mould.
