Goats not drinking a lot of water. What can I do to make then drink more water?

I have 3 Boer wethers(a wether is a male goat that has been castrated) that I am going to be showing this summer at market goat shows across the state of Kentucky. I change their water everyday and it is clean and fresh and even though it is near 90 degrees here everyday they aren't drinking much water. I am afraid they will become dehydrated. What can I do to make them drink more water?

Add a little bit of apple juice or kool-aid to the water. We used to do this with our goats when we took them to the fairs so they wouldn't become dehydrated from the stress of traveling by not drinking. They like the sweetness and it encourages them to drink a little more. And keep doing what you are doing with keeping it fresh everyday! Good luck at the shows.

Unless they're sick, as long as their water is fairly clean, they aren't going to drink unless they're thirsty. Pound for pound, goats and sheep require much less water than something like a cow. All you have to do is look at their poop, really, not kidding. Goats and sheep make dry pellets while cows make sloppy messes. That's because goats and sheep are able to extract more moisture from what they eat than can a cow. That's also why you find goats and sheep in desert areas and not cows.

no longer probable, no. eating a competent quantity of water, 2litres an afternoon, is stable yet whilst there's a situation then flow on your healthcare expert as she or he will comprehend what's terrific. the terrific thank you to try this could be to devour greater intense fibre ingredients yet you mentioned no eating? besides, all eating an entire load of water will do is make you pee alot, yet whilst there is an argument then flow on your healthcare expert (its what theyre paid for) desire this helps
