Can baby female cockatiel (weiro) whistles?

Hi everyone,

I have a 4-month (soon 5-month) old cockatiel and I always thought that it's a girl because of the barring under tails and most of the time she behaves like a girl too like she always hangs around with me gviing me kisses on my face. But recently I found her whistling and humming and I whistle some of the particular songs and she whistles the same songs too. I wonder if female cockatiel does that too?

The only def way that you will know if your tiel is a male of female is if you have DNA testing done or it starts laying eggs. Though the general behavior of a male will be more loving and will whistle more. Females tend to be more independent and quieter. Though there are males that act just like females and females that act just like males.

I have been given 3 shown pairs and not one of the ladies communicate or whistle. they are enormously plenty quiet till they desire foodstuff/water. I examine that some female tiels do whistle, yet not very many times. the clarification why male cockatiels whistle is to locate a mate. They proceed to whistle via out the breeding era even whilst the male is interior the nest field development a nest. He does this to permit the female know that the nest is getting geared up and its risk-free whilst the female stands outdoors periodically viewing in the time of the nest field hollow.

If the cockatiel is under 6 months old then it has barring whether its male or female. If its singing, its a male.
