TTC since October, any advice?

My husband and I have been TTC since October with no luck yet. Anyway, I have a doctor appointment on Thursday (just a general check up). I was hoping to bring up the subject of starting a family with the doctor, but I'm not really sure what questions to ask. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks so much!

Is the check up with an Ob/Gyn or a GP? An Ob/Gyn can give you more info. Any doctor will probably tell you that you ovulate about 14 days before you get your period. If your period is regular, figure out when ovulation will occur and then you and your husband should have sex at least every other day from 5 days before to the day after. If your periods are not regular, you might want to try an ovulation predictor kit or check your cevical mucus to help you know when you will be ovulating. Since it has been over 9 months, an Ob/Gyn might do an ultra-sound to look at your reproductive organs and do some blood work to check hormone levels. He or she may also suggest your husband have a semen analysis done. I can't think of any questions to ask other than, "We have been trying to conceive for more than 9 months now with no success. What do you think we should do? "

Just tell your doctor the truth. Tell him/her what you have been doing to TTC. Sex every other day, have you taken OPK to know around when you ovulate, are you charting, BBT, Cervical mucous, are your cycles regular? I know before I was TTC with my husband I went to my doctor and I had written down a year of my cycles to show her, so she knew around what my cycles were. I am not a perfect 28 day cycle I range 32-36 and she said it was normal. I had actually taken an OPK the month before my appt, so I knew around when I ovulate and check my lutheal phase, which she said was a perfect 14. So have that kind of information for your doctor, at least a few cycles to give an idea.

Good luck! Baby dust to you.

Well, first of all, it can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive.

I would ask the doctor what things he thinks you should do to increase your chances of conceiving.

My doctor advised having sex on the 12th, 14th, and 16th, with hubby abstaining for 4 days before sex on the 12th and not masturbating in between. This assumes a normal cycle. My cycle is a little bit longer, though.

I would also suggest that you start tracking your basal body temperature and cervical mucus. I found it really helpful. By doing that and a combo of what my doctor suggested, it took us two months to get pregnant. I am blessed.

Here is my chart so you can see what typical charts and pregnancy charts may look like.

Be honest with your doc and tell them you are TTC but no luck. My doc said usually they give it a full year before they define you has having fertitlity issues. Your doc will give you info that you may not know.......like how to watch your body for natural signs of ovulation, how to count to find your ovulation days, etc.

Just some advice......it can be something very simple or could be serious depending on your age, health, your spouse's age and health, etc. The fertility specialist know what to do to help you conceive.

PS. Check on your health insurance now to see if they cover infertility. Many policys will cover pregnancy but not infertility. If your chart gets tagged with TTC now, you may have problems adding it to your policy. If you can't get it added this quickly, you could maybe just ask your doc....we are thinking about TTC, what advice can you give me? And be sure and ask how long you should try before seeing a specialist.

properly... for my previous 2 sessions... they have been particularly far aside. I merely started mine at present. my final one became eighty days in the past... relies upon on your weight trend and ingesting trend how/in the event that they have replaced.
