Do you smoke a cigar even after the taste becomes stronger near the end of the cigar's life?

I usually do, and it's usually a mistake. I have the strong impression that this other cigar smokers suffer from the same aliment that I do; namely, we keep smoking because the puff before last was sooo good, and we trick ourselves into thinking that the next one will be as good.

It is typical to break down a cigar into quarters. You'll hear or read about cigars being referred to as being in "thirds". The three parts of the cigar are the front 3/4. Once you're about 3/4 of the way through the cigar, near the band, it becomes very bitter. The plain fact of the matter is that if it start to get that ultra-bitter/hot quality to it, it's done.

I do. I personally think think that stronger taste is the best part of the cigar. It all depends on preference. I smoke Maria Mancini churchhill maduros, they are about 7 inches long. I figure the 1st inch is just getting it warmed up, the next 2 are a sweet spot, let it chill for the next inch, then the last 2 are where its at. I've always believed that they draw easier than the flavor is def. stronger. Just cant smoke it as fast because you dont want to over heat it. Hope this helps.

If you are a true aficionado to smoking cigars and smoke good quality cigars you will find out that most don't smoke them all the way down to the bitter end. You should only smoke a cigar 3/4 of the way down and it's no good after that. It doesn't matter how much you pay for a cigar..once it's been burnt down 3/4's of a way down it's too hot and bitter and most true cigar afficandos do not smoke them any further.

On good cigars I do. Like Cuban cigars that cost in excess of $20 each. It's all a matter of personal taste though since different flavors come out with each third of the cigar. My favorite Cuban cigar was a thin guage, Cohiba Exquisitos, and those I smoked down till the very end since they were so good but I also treated them like my children constantly checking on their humidity level and temperate in the humidor. I aged those for over a year in the humidor making them all the more fun to smoke

It kills me about what true "cigar aficianados" say what to do.

Yes, cigars will tend to get a bit stronger at the end as the tars build up, but I will continue to smoke one until it becomes no longer enjoyable.
