Is it possible to gain weight from eating too much fruit?

I was wondering if you could actually gain weight from eating Fruit? I know fruit has lots of sugars and sugars can contribute to weight gain, so if I ate alot of fruit, especially at night isn't it possible to gain weight?

Thanks for the answers!

Update:

I am more interesting in the levels of sugar and how that can influence weight gain.

If you eat too much of anything you can gain weight. There's about 60 calories in an apple so if you ate 100 of them you'd take in 6000 calories which would make you gain. Obviously that's an extreme example and in general we shouldn't try to limit our fruit and vegetables cos it's very hard to get too much. X

weight gain or loss depends on the total amount of calories you eat compared to the calories you burn. If you eat more than you use then you gain weight. It does not matter if the calories come from fruit or ice cream. You just have to eat a lot more volume of fruit.
