Ok i just read the story about the student charged $675K for downloading music online.my question is,is using limewire illegal or legal?

It is illegal but unless you download tens of gigabytes of music and movies you can't be charged much if anything (you can't be charged anything if you don't share). If you already have a copy of the song then downloading it off Limewire isn't illegal.
The bottomline is, don't download too much and you will be fine.

Using Limewire is legal.
Using Limewire to download copyright material is illegal.

Your meant to pay for it and their is actually a very famous man(Can't remember his name) who is with illegal softwares' being illegal.
