They are growing up way too fast. My niece is going into second grade, in first grade there was a little boy on the bus sitting with a little girl who then grabbed he head put it to his crotch and said suck it. Then she was telling me that she thought some boy was cute until he made a V with his fingers and stuck his tongue out. The outfits are too skimpy, parents don't seem to give a **** on how they raise their kids. I never would have thought... it's getting out of hand.

Disagree. If you equate "growing up" with what kids are exposed to, I can see how it seems they are growing up too fast. But I see growing up as taking responsibility for yourself. While it's true that kids are having sex earlier, are they being responsible about it? Are they taking responsibility for raising a child if they get pregnant? While some do, the majority just have a medical procedure to fix the inconvenience.

To me, growing up faster is going out on their own and supporting themselves at a younger age. The trends that we are actually seeing is that young adults are staying at home with their parents longer and longer. It isn't unusual to see a 25 year old still living off mommy and daddy. Even looking at the questions on here, I see 23 to 25 year olds who have no idea how to live on their own and they don't want to know. They don't want to be independent. That's not what I consider grown up.

Just because a kid has sex doesn't make them grown up. Just because they dress slutty doesn't make them grown up. Taking full responsibility for themselves is grown up and I honestly don't see that happening at a younger age now than in other decades.

I think it is awful! But things are not safe like they were when I was young. I guess kids get bored because they can't go outside and run loose like we did, plus, they watch too much T.V. and spend too much time on the computer. That not only makes them lazy and unhealthy, but exposes them to things maybe they are too young to even know about. Also, parents are all working now, so no one is watching or there to say, "no you can't" so they just make their own decisions. Too bad because kids should be kids as long as they can. Life gets complicated early enough, no point rushing it!

i think the youth of today are growing up too sophisticated too fast. third graders kno what a B-J is. that's just wrong. and their parents dont teach them these things, the fellow third graders who hear from the 5th graders who hear from the 8th graders. its really really sad.
