I need advice for claims in California?

I filed a claim through my carrier, Wawanesa. My stereo was stolen, the face of the air conditioner was taken apart and the wing of my rear passenger window was broken. An independant claim adjustor (from Wawanesa) came and took pictures of the damages and said he would e-mail me the estimate to fix the damage.

I want to make sure that I won't get jipped. Can I challenge the estimates given to me?

Once you get the estimate, be sure to provide it to the shop when you take the car in for repairs. If there are any issues with labor times, parts prices, etc, the shop can call the rep who wrote the estimate and iron it out.

What makes you think you will be 'ripped'?

For heaven's sake at least see the estimate before you have a cow...

You can always challenge them, but it's not always successful.
