Finding a portrait tattoo artist, with pics?

Question

I am wanting to have a portrait of marilyn monroe done, and I've been going through my current artists portfolio and found a few portraits/more detailed work he's done. I've been happy with all his work he's done on me, very comfortable with him, etc, I'm just really thinking hard about who is going to do my portrait. I'm just interested in a second opinion, how do you guys think this looks? Keep shopping around or no?

Those pictures make for a tough call. The last one the woman looks like she has a beard. The other pictures are quite good. You can compare some other artists in your area by doing a search for artists in your area at www.inkednation.com From your search there you can view their portfolios. 
I can appreciate your tough decision, I had a bad artist when I was younger and had to get it redone. The artwork you want will not rework easily.

I think your artist will likely do just fine. It'd be better to see some portrait work, complete with the photos they're taken from, but my gut feeling is that he's going to do a fine job. Give him your business, he's got graywash down to a fine art. Take care.
