Question regarding a traffic violation in Brooklyn, NY?

I went to Brooklyn, New York today to meet some friends and was pulled over for making a left turn on a street that didn’t allow left turns between the hours of 10 AM to 7PM on Sundays for “bus routes.”  The police officer said the “ the reason that I'm pulling you over is because you made a left between the [said] hours because only busses can make lefts there.” 

My two friends and my brother were witnesses to this exact quote because my fiends both live in New York and take buses and I, too, lived in New York to know that no bus makes a left turn on that particular street. 

Second of all, I didn’t see the sign that said I can't make a left turn because of an obstruction. Had I seen it, I would’ve went straight. 
I actually got a summons and I am currently a resident of Connecticut. What are my options?

Whether buses really make left turns there doesn't matter to your case.  That the sign was obstructed MIGHT help your case if you decide to fight the ticket in court.  Get your friends (since they live in the area) to take a lot of photos to show the obstruction.  Then pray that the judge will agree that you couldn't have known it was an illegal turn.
