What do you do with a 14 year old boy who lacks discipline?

A little advice is needed here....taking away privileges doesn't help he has a nonchalant attitude.

How do you expect your teenager to have dicipline if YOU didn't teach him any? You had to have been working on this all along! So what you take away his stuff, now he can lay around and do nothing! Make him WORK HIS *** OFF for awhile and watch him change his tune! Get CONTROL MOM, it's your JOB! Is there not a man in the house? You need to BE THE MAN then and not the easy Mom!

Wow i definitely agree with the first answer.

Ignore him and act like you don't care.

trust me, you will soon see that nonchalant attitude falter, he will continue to do things, but when he notices that you don't care (or you are putting up this fake thing of not caring;; similar to what he is doing) then you might notice a change.

First ask yourself, do you exercise discipline?

Speak with him not at him and try to have him do most of the talking. This might take time for him to build confidence in you.

Address his concerns and be consistent.

Sometimes we raise children and sometimes they raise us.

    Good luck

Physical descipline its the only way, it says in the bible don't spare the rod or you spoil the child so just spank them on their backside and they will learn to listen
