Is there any rule in either NCAA or the NFL that states a team must have a white uniform?

I have seen NCAA basketball teams with colored home and away uniforms.NBA teams have colored alternate uniforms they wear @ home. I was just curious.

In the NFL one team wears their team colors, the other wears white jerseys. The home team makes the choice, that's why the Cowboys usually wear white at home. They believe it brings them luck. Sometimes on the road, the home team wears white, forcing Dallas to wear their blue jerseys.

It's pretty much the same in the NCAA and in high school. It's not always white, but must be a light color. For example, when USC and UCLA play, UCLA wears their light blue jerseys, instead of white.

NFL Best: Steelers, Panthers NCAA Best: UCLA NFL Worst: Browns, Bengals NCAA Worst: Syracuse (it's godawful, especially when they do the orange on orange jersey/pants combination) Orange just looks REALLY awful on a football uniform. I can't figure out why, but it rarely looks good as a main color. That's my 2 for 2.

good question, but im pretty sure there is no rule stating that specifically. however there should be a rule against some of the oregon ducks trial and error uniforms over the past 5 years.
