Kasey Kahne to Hendrick in 2011?

According to a report on ESPN.com, Kahne has signed a mult-year deal to join HMS starting next season. With the four team rule, who will be out at HMS? Does Mark retire? Is Dale Jr done at HMS or moves to JR Motorsports, or does Kahne possibly move to Stewart-Haas as a third car?

Jimmie Johnson isn't going any where and Jeff Gordon signed a life time contact with Hendrick and I though Mark Martin will race another year in 2011 and I doubt it Jr. will leave. Hard to say because Stewert Haas is a team but run Hendrick engines and so on. But Haas is their own team. Weird...

Did you not read the article?

There is room for Martin and Kahne in the Hendrick family. Stewart Haas Racing receives chassis, engines and technical support from HMS. So Kahne could be housed there until Martin's contract was up, if necessary.

In 2008 Dale Earnhardt Jr. signed a five-year deal with Hendrick. Jimmie Johnson last year signed an extension through 2015, and Jeff Gordon has a lifetime contract.

Kahne will probably go to Stewart Haas for 2011, while Mark finishes out his career.

EDIT: I just saw on Twitter he will drive the #5 Kellogg's Chevrolet in 2012.

When Kasey announced he was leaving to drive for Hendrick Motor Sports it was known that there was no spot for him 2011. The plan all along was to find him a ride with a Hendrick satellite team like Stewart Hass. Rick will probably supply the cars and team and will be another's team car in name only with Rick basically running an end around the 4 car limit.
