The display of my IBM laptop goes off after 5 minutes. However, it will display images on external LCD.?

The is a problem with my IBM laptop. The laptop LCD display goes off after about 5 minutes. There is no problem with setting. However, if I connect it to an external LCD, it will continue to display images. What part of laptop most likely gives rise this problem?

    This could be an issue with the screen inverter. When the display goes off, either bring the laptop to a very bright room, or grab a flash light. Take a REALLY good look at the screen. Can you still see the images that were there before the screen "turned off" but just really dark, as if the light went out? If so, then it is an issue with your inverter. The Inverter is the device that inverts the DC power from the battery or power adapter, to AC power that the Cold Cathode Tube bulb that illuminates the screen needs.

    If no amount of holding a flashlight to the screen, or bringing the laptop quickly to a well lit room reveals that your screen still works but only went dark... then it might indeed be a motherboard issue or a connection issue. So, at that point, you would either check the cable that connects the motherboard to the screen for any breaks... or you would replace the motherboard.

Theyre all cool, yet probable the 1st one or the third one. those solar hues are spectacular- i wish the solar grew to become into shining in Britain, so i ought to flick out my solar hues out besides lol! forget approximately those butt heads who're cussing by using fact theyre for sure jealous.
