Opinions on Prenatal Vitamins?

What prenatal vitamin are all you moms-to-be using? I have been using OB 400 with DHA since before I got pregnant, but I was wondering if any of you are using any over-the-counter prenatals that have worked well? The thing I don't like about the vitamin I'm using (besides the price - $45 for a 30 day supply AFTER insurance pays their portion) is that the DHA leaves a fishy taste in my mouth and some of the capsuls have leaked out which causes all the capsules in the pack to taste very fishy.

I take Flinstones with Iron twice a day and I use whatever DHA capsule I can find. Right now, I take the Target brand of DHA. Both have worked fine for me. Flinstones is about $10 a month and the DHA is about $10.

I was using the prescribed DHA vitamins at the beginning of my pregnancy, but when I lost my secondary insurance, I switched to the otc kind, and my baby is perfectly healthy so far. (I'm now 35 weeks.) I actually talked to a maternal fetal medicine doc about this, and she told me that any prenatal vitamin--otc or not--should be sufficient. She actually went so far as to say that the prescribed ones are nothing more than an attempt for pharmaceutical companies to make more money, which I definitely agree with. Sure, doctors might tell you that the rx ones are better, but you have to keep in mind that they often have ties with these pharm. reps and are, in a way, obligated to promote a particular brand that may not be any better than one that you can get for less than half the price. That's just my take on it, though. Women have had babies for years without all these prenatal vitamin options, and I think we've done pretty well so far. :)

I did not take standard prenatals at all. I looked at the bottle and saw what the prenatals contained and took nearly the same thing through a combination of vitamin pills. I took more folic acid, calcium, vitamin E, and magnesium than prenatals contain and I adjusted the amount of iron, slowly increasing it throughout my pregnancy.

I didn't take a prenatal pill, just took my regular vitamin pill of One a Day brand, that worked fine for me, no additional DHA pills, just foods with iron like regular dates, almonds and spinach

I've been taking buried treasure prenatal with DHA the whole pregnancy. I love them because it is liquid form and I mix it with juice. The tablets made me sick and I think the liquid is more easily absorbed especially when diluted with juice and water.

I tried a chewable Rx prenatal and couldn't stand it, so I ended up taking Flintstones.
