How to tie Carbon rod to make a kite?

How to tie carbon rod tightly to make a kite? I mean when i bend the rod curve and wanted to tie but it slip out... What kind of string should i use?

    The problem is not the string, any kit string will work.

    The problem is that the carbon rod is so smooth.

    If you follow these suggestions you can cure the problem.

    Using a hack saw with a metal cutting blade in it, cut a shallow notch about 1/16" deep

    on both ends of the Carbon rod.

    Stand the Carbon rod on the floor and lean it against a chair for support to do this.

    Now you have two notch's to attach a string to.

    After cutting the two notch's, lay the Carbon rod on the table and have someone bend

    the curve shape you want and hold that position while you measure the distance

    between the ends of the Carbon rod.

    Tie a loop in one end of a string and another loop in the other end of the string at

    the length you measured.

    This string attached to the two ends of the Carbon rod, in the notch's will hold the

    curved shape and the string will not slip.

    The finished thing will look like a bow used to shoot an arrow.
