Generally, how long will it take to clear customs from Hong Kong to Shenzhen on a Saturday?

Also, how much is the visa to get into Shenzhen? Thank you.

It depends upon the time of day. It has taken me as long as two hours going the bus route from HK to the Shenzhen airport (on a Saturday). Taking the MTR and connecting at Lowu has taken as little as 45 minutes.

There are no visas available at the border. You will be required to have a visa in your passport prior to going through the checkpoint.

"Ordinary passport holder of Singapore, Brunei and Japan is exempted from applying for a visa if he or she visits China (mainland) for tourism, business, visiting friends and relatives and enters China by open ports to foreign nationals and stay up to 15 days."

Other options under the visa waiver program include authorized tour groups visiting the Pearl Delta region and Hainan Island. If you think you belong to this type of waiver, see: http://www.chinaconsulatesf.org/eng/qianzhen/t7516...

Otherwise, the price of a standard tourist visa is as follows:

For US citizens, the price is $140 US for any type . . . single entry, double entry, 6 months multiple entries, 12 months multiple entries.

For citizens of other countries, the price is: (See note below)

    Single entry: $30 US

    Double entry: $45 US

Multiple entries 6 months: $60 US

Multiple entrites 12 months: $90 US

    * Visa fees for some countries may differ from that listed above due to reciprocity, and will be charged accordingly by the Consulate.

Visas may be obtained at your nearest Chinese consulate or through various tour agencies and visa agencies.

Information above was obtained from: http://www.chinaconsulatesf.org/eng/qianzhen/t7516...

It doesnt take too long to clear customs during weekends in Luohu. It should not take you more than 40 minutes. Visa cost depends on type of visa, how many entries and nationality.
