my cat died need to know why?

The cat died by a medical reason but from what? The cat one day came back home but he was only walking on his front legs. He meow a lot so I but him in a box and kept it warm since it was a rainy day. He had white foam coming from his mouth did not want to move or even eat nothing also no purrring. Next day he started walking but not so well but the next day he was normal. But a month later like last time with the rain it happend again. But this time he started moving strangly like he is having a child. Sometimes moves like he is having a bad dream and streaching his body in different ways. Later after like an hour and a half he stooped moving. I checked but he was already dead.

Here are details of the were I live in central america Honduras, trujillo near the beach and the mountains in between. This happend two moths ago in the begging of the rainy season after the dry season. I thought the first time it was because it was a toad the secound time I thought it was rat poison since there are rats in the neighborhood. Forgot to mention the cat threw up a lot before dieing.

Update:

ok then it looks like it wasn't saddle thrombus or rat poison with the details the vet gave me as an answer. He don't bleed and before he died all his body part were moving like crazy. so i go with the cat aids but how fast can it kill after he got it? He was not even a year old. neurological symptoms like the vet said that could be the problem since he did have foam on its mouth and was moving like crazy before dieing. But it is still weird why during a rainy day? That is why I thought it could be a toad they come out only when it rains and he likes to chase after them I have seen him do so.

I am also worried for the next door neighbor's cat that came from the U.S he has been losing weight and not moving so much a month after my cat died they were friends. me and the owner are afraid something is wrong. Also hope the cat aids doesn't affect humans if so I should check it out.

There are a few different things that could cause the symptoms you saw, and if a veterinarian had done a necropsy (animal autopsy) at the time of your cats passing, they would have been more able to give you a definitive answer.

First, cats can develop something called a "saddle thrombus", meaning that they pass a clot from their heart that lodges near their pelvis which causes them not to be able to move their hind legs. The fact that he started using them again the next day indicates this may not be the case, or that it was a smaller clot that resolved on it's own, only to resurface a month later.

Rat poison tends to cause them to bleed out. You would have noticed lethargy, and shortly (within a week or so) after the onset of symptoms he would have passed away. The other type of rat bait out there causes them to stop breathing, again he would have died very soon. It is unlikely that he got into rat poison.

FIV, also known as feline AIDS, rarely causes the symptoms that you saw, although as the other person responding mentioned it is how their cat passed away.

The foaming at the mouth indicates that maybe he was having neurological symptoms. He could have had a stroke or seizures that ultimately lead to his passing away.

Again, without having a necropsy done there is no definitive answer, but the majority of the time sudden death in cats is related to an underlying heart condition.

My cat died from the same thing, its not rabies its called cat aids not to be confused with human aids it is a sickness it could have for years from another cats scratch it causes them to halucinate and foam at the mouth before death. It's very painful when it finally catches up with them and is very sad, we took our cat to the vet when we notticed it throwing up and foaming at the mouth he wasn't dead yet but already getting stiff the vet explained the illness to us and that our best option was to put it to sleep because the 2k dollar blood transfusion would only keep him alive about 2 more weeks and he would be in severe pain. Im sorry for your loss.
