My rear facing convertible car seat doesnt seem secure?

My sons convertible car seat does not seem secure at all when rear facing. I tightened the latch straps well and it wont move at that area but it moves like crazy everywhere else. I tried it out forward facing to see if it was the same way but it was perfectly secure. Am I doing something wrong? I read the instruction manual and everything. Any tips on how to secure it more?

When it's rear facing you can roll up a kitchen dish towel and put it under the car seat closes to where the latch system is. Most cars don't have flat seats so if your actual car seat has any kind of a dip in it this will cause the seat to not be as secure. You can do a rolled up towel or one of those pool noodle things for the swimming pool. I bought a Safety 1st car seat and couldn't get it secure enough so I returned it and paid more for an even flow that said to do the towel thing to secure it more and it worked like a charm that seats not going anywhere.

It will seem to move a lot at the top. If you can, look in your community to see if there's somewhere you can take it to make sure it's installed properly. I believe a police or fire station may be your best shot. Good luck!

I agree with Pepita. Find a certified carseat technician through a fire station, police station, or AAA.
