you don't need to workout if you take whey protein, its just another from of protein, as for best smoothie meal replacement, you're better off making you're own, much cheaper toss some things in a blender and find what you like best, try to vary it though, you don't want nothing but mixed berries and whey for a few meals a day, it gets boring, throw in some veggies, also know you said don't say this but a liquid diet is mainly better if you are exercising, because it won't fill you up as much as a meal, so you'll end up actually eating much more (in terms of calories) by a liquid diet coz you'll always be hungry, and if you're not working out, you're gonna get really fat, really quick, but hey if you wanna try it, go ahead

I just completed a month of a 'raw' food diet where my meals were smoothies (breakfast, lunch and dinner), which is a challenge in itself.

For breakfast, the main ingredient you could use is almond milk or non-fat yogurt with a combo of fruits (whatever you like from bananas, strawberries, raspberries, peaches, etc.) with oats or whey protein. I only used protein since I wasn't getting any in my doing this diet.

For lunch and dinner is where it got a bit tricky. I wanted to incorporate vegetables as much as possible. You have to be creative and see what suits best for you. For me, my best combo would be spinach, lime and lemon juice with coconut water. Word of the wise, never blend more than one stalk of celery in one smoothie unless you really like the taste because it will over power any other taste in it.

For other hints, try reading "everything you need to know about green smoothie" worked for me.

    Good luck.
