Reporting Y!A posts - what happens?
I sometimes report Y!A posts, usually those that come from India advertising callgirls. The posts are taken down. If the poster appeals successfully, should I get a notification that I am reporting the wrong posts? I do usually get a notification of the outcome if any of my posts is reported and I appeal.

No, you don't get notified if your report is overturned on appeal. What happens is that your "trust" will drop, so things you report won't disappear as easily. You may or may not notice. For the commercial spammers, you can use the Official Spam Battle Thread on the Suggestion Board (link on the ABOUT tab) to post a link to the profile page directly, rather than report their answers. That way, the entire account will be stripped and suspended, quickly - and you will build up your trust fairly quickly as well. But it is ONLY for commercial spam. Spam is pretty obvious and a safe bet to report, as long as it is commercial spam, because those accounts NEVER appeal.

NO. As far as I know there is nothing at all said to anyone regarding reporting.No-one knows if they are "trusted" or not. Its something the computer secretly decides based on an arranged program.
The call girls will be regarded as spam. That is something I know they are very keen on being reported. You could try and ask this question to the answers team for your area. They may give you a few tips ?
