which state tends to have more wild fires,, Arizona or California?

California, Definitely California.

The more forest area, the more wildfires.
Areas around the rockies probably have the worst - Colorado and the areas around Yellowstone. They burn full fledged for months....
California has more wildfires than Arizona because there is more forest land. But California and Arizona certainly have POWERFUL fires when they exist. However, they are usually much shorter in duration. It's usual for them to last more than a few weeks.
