I'm pretty sure that if 80% of Indians are anywhere, they're in India. In practice, that number is more like 98% since the size of the Indian diaspora is only about 25 million while India's population is over 1.2 billion. Suffice to say, NASA wouldn't have the budget to hire 80% of Indians, and their preference is to hire Americans for research and technical positions. If you mean the inverse of what you asked (ie Are 80% of NASA's employees Indian), the answer is still no, and not by a long shot. Part of this is because such positions often have requirements for security clearances. Part of it is because employers in the United States are required to demonstrate that no suitable US candidates are available to fill a position before they hire from abroad. Part of it is because as much as Indian universities are producing a deluge of science graduates, their standards can be a bit flakey. They do produce some brilliant scientists, but they also produce a lot who aren't up to par.

PS (for the respondents) Nowadays, you're kind of an asshole if you refer to the First Nations of the Americas as "Indians". Goes double if you specify, "Feather not dot," or something similar. Actually, it was always an asshole move, though in the past folks didn't know any better and frequently didn't care if they were being assholes. Nowadays, you ought to know better. Yes, I know most folks suck at geography, but it's not unreasonable to expect that unlike Columbus (who chose to ignore the math of Eratosthenes and only managed to avoid paying with his life for the mistake because there was an unknown continent between him and his destination), you at least know what hemisphere you're in.

Your English is understandable. About 25% of USA citizens have one or more ancestor from India or who were Native Americans, who are also called Indians, so likely 25% not 80%. Possibly NASA subcontracts with a company that has many workers who came from India, for the visitor center.

In NASA hiring, preference is given to U.S. citizens (some of whom are of Indian descent).

    So, no.
