Do you think America should make April Fools Day illegal?
I was on my job on April Fools Day when I got an emergency call. I was informed that my child had been arrested and needed to be bailed out. Knowing that this had never happened before, I rushed off my job, driving over the speed limit, on my way to the bank to get the bail money. Since it was after hour, the banker waited at the bank for me. She informed me that she had gotten a call that her daughter had to be rushed to the emergency room due to an unknown illness, but it was intended to be an April fool's joke. While she was informed me with anger in her voice, I got another call, saying April Fool. When I explained to this person what they had put me through, they simply stated, "you can't take a joke. You should have known it was April Fool Day."

Unfortunately, there are no laws against pulling practical jokes and people will continue to prank one another. April Fool's day is just an excuse to do these tricks. The ones you describe are not only not funny but could have had seriously poor outcomes. This is why I hate practical jokes. Getting a laugh at someone else's expense is so not amusing, IMO.

No, "April Fools Day" is sort of celebrated the world over, I'm a German user and we love it over here in my home country! However, what you experienced is not funny at all - and anybody who pulls such a prank on you should be made to pay!
