The Bible refers to life and death as spiritual life and death, why do so many people think it talks about physical death?

Because so many people have learned in Fourth Grade to READ IN CONTEXT. When the Bible talks about PHYSICAL death, it is clearly so. When the Bible talks about SPIRITUAL death, it is clearly so.

The bible speaks of both physical death and spiritual death. A person could be alive physically, but be dead spiritually. Millions of people today are alive , but have no spiritualality in their lives.

Because their interpretation of the bible is just as good as yours. If the bible were as obvious as you imply, there wouldn't be so much disagreement. If any of you guys were actually in communication with God about your interpretations, you'd be able to demonstrate it in a way that would convince any honest person. You might like to claim, as so many Christians arrogantly do, that anyone who disagrees with you is either dishonest or stupid, but you wouldn't have to look far to find someone who will make the same arrogant (and equally justified) claim about you.

Actually it does talk about physical death. (For example: Ecclesiastes 9:5; Psalm 37:9-11)

Because it's simply a false claim that every mention of life & death in the Bible is in a spiritual sense.

"If there is no resurrection of the dead, then The Messiah has not risen. And if The Messiah is not risen, then our preaching it worthless and your faith is also worthless." 1 Co. 15 13-15
Jesus literally rose from the dead. There are incredibly spiritual elements to it as well, but the bottom line is that through Jesus, God forever fixed the problem of physical death.

Because that energy that is us can not be destroyed.. The bible is of man and this existence so it can only address this life and it's death.

I have trouble caring about the opinions of men who lived almost 2000 years ago, who assigned magic beliefs to events and things because of their minimal understanding of the world around them.
