No one understands the Bible. Instead read the truth in the teaching of Jesus recorded only in 4 books of the Bible - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

At the very least, to see how societies go through certain phases before destruction and how to keep any morality that we have left while people move from dependence on God to dependence on technology which harms the earth not only to use, but to create.

There are no reasons at all. NONE.
It is not necessary to understand the Bible at all. What if your Jewish or Muslim or Buddhist. The Bible would have no meaning at all.

A good question. What need have we for such blatant lies. Satan is lord, do not be deceived by the false prophets. Lord Satan hath spoke of the times when the false believers would spread lies. They are a fearful sort for they know in their hearts they have lied and that they worship a false god.

It is very important to know our own religion, instead of relying the feeding of pastors or the priest preaching or sermons.

Because if the person doesn't understand the Bible, then they're going to hell.
That's like asking "Why should a person understand that socialism is bad?" Because socialism we know is bad, just like hell.
