What is contract called? I want the owner of a business i'm taking minority stake in to provide me with indemnification from any lawsuits.?

    It's can't be done. A part owner can be held liable. You should inquire about his business insurance.

    A contract is called a contract. You need one that has an indemnity clause in it.

    He can't indemnify you from lawsuits by others. Only himself.
