Are Eastern Orthodox Saints accepted by the Catholic church?

I am getting my confirmation and I need to choose a patron saint. I wish to choose an Eastern Orthodox saint.

    Lioness is not far wrong.

Generally speaking, popular saints who lived prior to the Great Schism are accepted by both denominations as saints.

Generally speaking, since the Great Schism each denomination has "canonized" only people from within their own denomination and (generally) they do not recognize saints from any other denomination since the Great Schism.

Note that very many saints (except the most ancient) typically have a relatively local following anyway (again: there are exceptions). Many Roman Catholic saints - for example - are not widely revered by Roman Catholics because their popularity is limited regionally.

All saints before 1054 are accepted by both Eastern and Western Catholic churches, After 1054 they are not recognizing the others saints.

Choose a pre 1054 Saint and you will be fine. Peace be with you.

No man should be made to be a saint. Only Jehovah should be worshipped. His son Jesus Christ will rule the world. In the very near future. So stick with the true faith. go here to find it. www.jw.org

Probably many of the pre-schism saints like Augustine, Irenaeus, John of Damascus and so on.

Although from what I understand in the Eastern rite Catholic Churches they do have some similar saints such as St Gregory Palamas.

"Confirmation" is not in the Bible, so it does nothing. And the Bible says that every believer in Jesus is a saint.

Catholic and orthodox both lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire. Jesus Christ is against catholicism, because catholicism teaches a false gospel of works that leads to eternal torment in the lake of fire.

    .........

And water baptism cannot get you into heaven, is not required to get into heaven, and cannot be added to what gets a person into heaven.

    .

Catholicism is not Christian. Catholicism leads to hell, because it teaches a false gospel of works that is against Jesus. Catholicism didn't exist for over 300 years after Jesus. Catholicism is never true, and never from God. The "pope's" religion is catholic. There is no "pope" in the Bible. Every "pope" is a false prophet working for satan. And catholicism teaches a false gospel of works that leads to hell, and has tons of other false doctrines as well. Catholicism is lies and falsehoods that lead to hell. Catholicism is to be avoided...

.The truth is that Jesus is God. Jesus loves you! Death leads to immediate heaven or hell, and it is too late to be saved, after death. The only way to heaven is by believing in Jesus. The truth is that believing in Jesus to take you to heaven without adding any of your own works, is the only way to heaven. Jesus paid it all, so believe in Jesus, and you re saved. There is no chance to be saved after death. Jesus Christ is God, Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins, all sins past and future, to make all our sins forgiven, past and future, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works or deeds or religions or anything. You cannot add any works to salvation (Romans 4:5). So to be in heaven and not in eternal torment in the lake of fire, believe in Jesus Christ to take you to heaven. That easy! Tell Jesus right now that you believe in Jesus for eternal life, and you will be in heaven! Jesus loves you and wants to bless you now and throughout your life and forever!

The nuns told me that "Any person following their conscience has an equal chance at salvation."
