Does America now accept chip and pin as payment?

It depends upon the individual establishment.  Some places only accept cash. (What's that?)

If you are using any other credit card, you do not use a PIN for purchases. However, you do use a PIN to get a cash advance at an ATM.

I know what you mean. In Europe, you put in the chip card and punch in your PIN. No, we don't have that yet. Our ATM cards have PIN numbers, but our credit cards don't. It's still a problem when we try to pay in Europe with a chip card- they have to run it separately. I think most Americans don't know how credit cards work in Europe, so they've confused about the PINS for debit cards and the chips in our credit cards.

Chip and electronic signature is the latest for credit cards although signature is no longer required by the credit card companies. Each retail store can decide themselves what they require.

A limited number of places, like Target with their card, require pin with Credit card.
