Why is it more expensive to fly or take a bus to Phoenix?

I just notice that (at least from my location) As compared to even New York, LA, and Chicago a flight OR bus tickets to Phoenix are higher. Why? I asked the travel agent if in general booking trips to Phoenix is more expensive, he said yes, but he didn't know why..🤔 hmmm

Southwest Airlines has a huge hub here and you will have lay overs some places. Now would be the best time to book a flight, make sure you have refundable tickets but I hear it's the cheapest to purchase tickets now than ever before for later.

It really depends on what airlines fly from where you are and whether they have frequent routes or, more important, a hub in the city you're going to. Not knowing where you're coming from gives people very little to guess on as to the exact reasons.

More common and frequent routes are usually less expensive.

Maybe because more people go to those places from where you are. Maybe because it's further to Phoenix than to the other places. Hard to say without knowing where you are.

You have to say from WHERE?
