Meatloaf: Baked in a meatloaf pan, or baked on a flat pan?

Update:

I like a flat pan. In a meatloaf pan the ML gets too greasy, no where for the fat to go. Also,on flat pan, the sides get nice and browned.

MEATLOAF : Baked in a "meatloaf" pan , or baked in a "flat pan " ?

not sure what a "FLAT PAN " infers

perhaps a square or rectangle bake ware

REASONABLE thought that a higher thicker formed meatloaf

compared to a thinner flatter formed meatloaf

is influenced by pan shape conformity would take longer to cook ... But

the other issue is i have formed Meat loaf to the detentions

of 6 inches high and baked it in a rectangle or square pan

in the shape of a "LOAF " ( oblong shape per dictionary ) or a " BALL "

the Pan used is not that CRITICAL in baking meat

it bakes no matter what pan it is in.....

WOW and who CONVINCED People they NEEDED

to Purchase a SPECIAL pan to bake meatloaf in

a CON MAN... another example of Human Gullibility

HEY do people bake anything other than meatloaf

    in their "MEATLOAF PAN"

Rachel Ray's 9 X 5 "meatloaf " pan sells for $39.95 DUH what did people bake MEATLOAF in before the INVENTION of the WORDS "Meatloaf pan "

    which is basically a 9 x 5 "LOAF" ( OBLONG ) pan

now designated as a "meatloaf " pan .

.. I Know I know a 9 X 5 LOAF "OBLONG " pan or a rectangle or square pan WAIT how did the word MEAT + LOAF become MEAT LOAF ...

... MEAT LOAF a traditional German Scandinavian Belgium dish a cousin to the DUTCH MEATBALL

the "American Meatloaf has its ORIGIN in "SCRAPPLE " a mixture of pork and CORN meal served by German - Americans in Pennsylvania since the colonial days

I bake it in a loaf pan, I find that baking it on a flat pan, it tends to spread out into a non-loaf shape, unless its been wrapped in bacon.

I prefer to bake it on a rack so the fat and juices drip onto a foil-covered pan.

I think baked on a flat pan with a meat loaf pan underneath to catch the drippings. I've got a very very clean oven bro.

I bake it in a loaf pan. If you want to drain the fat, put some crumpled aluminium foil in the bottom, or use leaner ground beef.

Loaf pan preserves the shape better; flat pan drains off the fat. Chaque un a son gout.
