    It's officially known as The Kingdom of the Netherlands, comprising a nation in Western Europe and a number of territories in the Caribbean, three of which are constituent nations within the Kingdom, and three having the status of special municipality. Holland is a misnomer, and refers to two western provinces (North and South Holland) in the European part of the kingdom.

    It's called Nederland in their language or Olanda in Italian and other things in other languages. Some people call it Holland but two of the provinces actually have Holland in the name.
