What did covid 19 give u the chance to do with being laid off ?

The extra time off allowed me to do all the shopping/errands for my elderly parents, one of whom is a cancer patient.

I wasn't laid off, and neither was my husband. We can work from home.
However, it's certainly disrupted our workplaces and caused many, many problems for my students. I'm doing my best to help them, but some have insurmountable issues right now.
More than one has lost a relative to the virus abroad and cannot get home.
