Disney has so many restrictions now and several things "temporarily unavailable" we are skipping it. I am so disappointed. Looking into Universal now.

They are both great, and both worth checking out.  Different people have different preferences, and there isn't one clear "better" park.

Disney World is bigger, and a trip there tends to be a bigger experience.  There are 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, and other things to get into.  You need at least a full day at each of the 4 main parks, but can easily spend more than that at most of them.

Universal has 2 theme parks, a water park, and a shopping/dining area.  You can do each of those theme parks in 1-1.5 days each, depending on when you go and what exactly you want to do.

They obviously have different theming, so people interested in princesses and Mickey Mouse are probably going to prefer Disney, while those into Harry Potter and superheroes will probably prefer Universal.

Universal does have more thrill rides than Disney.  Many of Universal's rides are the 3D type attractions though, which some people just don't like much.

I love both - the four Disney parks and the two Universal ones.

I'm from the UK and am planning a trip once things get back to normal - or at least close to normal, probably in 2022.  I'll be visiting all the parks and also Sea World.

Disney has many iconic rides, my favourites being Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Soarin', Toy Story Mania and Expedition Everest, but there are many new ones which I've not done before.

Universal has some great rides too - The Mummy, Men in Black, The Hulk and, of course, the Harry Potter rides.  The whole Potter areas are amazing and worth the trip even without the rides!

Maybe visit both companies' websites and see which rides, shows, experiences, etc, appeal most to you?

That depends on your interests and preferences. I prefer Disney World.
