    college- i doubt it.

housing- it is very likely, home prices and apartments in the suburbs are in high demand where the local policticians dont treat the police like crap.

Also housing could go down as there has been a HUGE rise in the cost of housing over the last 7 years in western Oregon.

Doubtful. Now that Portland has made the front cover, people know it exists.  So investors are going to flock there to put up structures (hoping they will burn down later and they can collect the higher insurance pay out)

. With more people come an increase in college fees.  It would have increased ANYWAYS.

No- don't be silly! Protests don't stop people from moving to a city.

Portland will end up like Detroit where they give the property away for the cost of the delinquent tax bill .

@ Mr. Wethispants , clearly the asker is interested in investment opportunities . Of course no one sane wants to live in a shythole like Portland .

What do YOU care?  You don't want to live in a blue state, do you?

Red states do tend to have a cheaper cost of living.  Largely because they tend to be a lot poorer.

Not at all the Trump supporters who went to Portland and shot paint balls from their trucks at protesters do not live in Portland. They will go home and the violence will stop.
