Depends what his disability is.  Generally it is best to take the advice of professionals.

Absolutely  not. I homeschoooled my son and he is now in his second year of graduate school. I homeschooled because I wanted him to succeed in life and to get a better education. I also wanted to make sure he was going to learn everything he needed to get into a good college. My son enjoyed the one on one atmosphere and being to learn at his own pace. He also went to chess club, music classes, acting classes, etc after he finished his classes. Do what you feel is best for your child.

Homeschooling can be a wonderful option for students who have parents with enough time to teach them at home. It gets them out of environments where they're likely to be influenced by kids who are rebellious toward authority, who will offer them drugs, who will encourage them to sneak out of their homes at night, it will get them out of environments where school shootings could occur, etc. But it's only beneficial if parents have the time and availability to help them with their work and make sure they're truly getting a thorough education.

These days, you have a host of online services that parents of the past could only dream about.  So so long as you and your son would be able to remain dedicated to the effort, home schooling is probably a better idea today than ever before.
