News story just said unexploded bomb washed up on beach?
Aren't all bombs unexploded?
It would be hard for an exploded bomb to wash ashore.

Lol, journalistic convention. That was the term (UXB) that was used in the Blitz and it seems to have stuck. I regularly commission surveys for UXOs which is the more usual term, but I guess any ordnance that had already exploded would not be much of a threat.

There used to be a Barnes Wallis bouncing bomb sitting in the Thames estuary, which the locals used to fish off. But It was a dummy practice bomb.
