How to write fictional monarchy?
Im trying to write a book, and for it I need a way to come up with either a situation of high class family house or either a monarchy, yet I don’t know how to write it.
I need help with this, if I had to choose a random place to write my fictional monarchy, I would choose Portugal, ok so now what? How do I start it? What would the monarchy be for? Can anybody give me some examples?

Portugal was a monarchy until 1910. If you want to maintain the Portuguese monarchy to the present in your story, you would need to understand the monarchy as it was and show how it could have survived.
