Change YA?

How might they change YA to cut down on the number of stupid  questions?  The incentive for points is to ask dumb questions.   How does a ball work?  Is water wet?

Will I be happy?  When did I eat?  Is my name Fred?

Verizon/YAnswers isn't in business to provide free entertainment - YAnswers exists to generate advertising income which depends upon the number of people exposed to the ads.  So Verizon/YAnswers is only interested in maximizing the number of users, not quality of the site:  they don't care what age, how moronic the questions or idiotic the answers as long as the number of users and posts increases.  In the long term, of course, it will all collapse and be discontinued.

automatic deletion of some chat-questions, non-questions, coke-or-pepsi questions and questions in other languages

Lift the blocks on anonymous questions

deduct at least 25 point per question/deletion

Bring back notifications about deletions, so more people know they are violating the rules

The most effective way to reduce inappropriate questions on the site, is to report violations when you see them. The only other way to reduce violations being posted would be to have paid moderators (which Yahoo/Verizon does not appear inclined to do, because it's very costly) or to require approval for every question before it hits the site (which again would require paid staff to read/release those questions).

    .

The site is community moderated because that's the least expensive way to have it somewhat moderated. It's not much of a money maker, so there's no benefit in Yahoo/Verizon paying staff to review every post here (either before or after it hits the display). WE, the site users, are the ones who need to be more diligent in reporting the violations.

Yahoo cant stop people from Posting those kind of Questions if you are not Interested in Answering them the Best thing to do would be to Just Ignore them

The only "improvement" left for Yahoo to make would be to just shut the damn site down already. It's become a pathetic, tired joke.

There are several simple things they can do that do not require paid moderators.

    1. Go back to questions costing points.

    2. Eliminate getting points for answers in P&S.

    3. Eliminate "anonymous".
