    They’re completely misinformed and ignorant.

Maybe because the average salary in Southern California is $30,000 more than it is in the rest of the country and the price of a home is four times the average elsewhere.

because of the cost of living

Since they don't see how much citizen subsidized help is given to the poor in this state. They simply take a gander at the average cost for basic items and think wow. California additionally has some very great self advancement that disregards the truth that we have the most poor and the most vagrancy in the country.

Because when rent is $3000 and houses are a million, we dullards in Texas in our $240,000 shacks think they gots lotsa extra cash we ain't got.

Really?  Where's your evidence of such an assertion?  Your question has no basis in fact.

Because they don't understand how much taxpayer funded assistance is given to the poor in this state. They just look at the cost of living and think yikes. California also has some pretty good self promotion that ignores the reality that we have the most poor and the most homelessness in the nation.

Ca has the largest wealth gap in the country. One is either rich, or got lucky decades ago when they bought, or live in extended family units.
