Where can I get help with my taxes?

I am in a sticky situation with my peers and my family, I need help, since they keep stealing my pay stubs and tax returns and this has left me unable to get a job. Can anyone give me a phone number or something for Columbus, OH to get help? Please?

You can also call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 or TTY: 1-800-829-4059. This option works best for less complex questions. Keep in mind that wait times to speak with a representative may be long. You may also contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service if you're having a tax problem.

Why do you leave your pay stubs and tax returns where they can find them?  Knowing one tax return was stolen, why did you leave the next year's one where they could find it.  You should have learned from the prior year.  Regardless, none of that can prevent you from getting another job.  It is YOU who is responsible for that.  Figure it out.  CPAs are all over.  Make an appointment with one to help you with your taxes.

Your question makes no sense, you don't need pay stubs or tax returns to get a job.

If your family is taking your documents and refusing to return them then ask your employer for duplicates and keep them in a safe place or store them electronically.

If they're taking your paychecks and tax refunds toward household expenses, which is not unheard of, but you should be keep in the loop of where the money is going. I've known plenty of high school or college age young adults who worked part time and turned the majority of their earnings over to their parents to help pay for groceries and other bills.

If they're just outright stealing it to blow on their own personal frivolous spending then tell them to stop and file a police report if the do it again.

Call the police, it's a crime.

No one needs to submit pay stubs or tax returns to get a job.   You sound like you've taken a trip to Fantasy Island.    Your best option for help is probably your nearest mental health facility.
