Serena is coming back to the competition as she ages. She can still play very well+, but may not be able to sustain it through a whole tournament.

Even the best pro's get upset once in awhile.
Everyone can have a bad day, feel a little off, sick, or slightly injured, with a pulled muscle or something.
I would hardly write her off just yet, over one game.
