The measurement of time began with the invention of sundials in ancient Egypt some time prior to 1500 B.C. However, the time the Egyptians measured was not the same as the time today's clocks measure. Time is defined by the oscillation of a type of atom. Hence, we can consider time as a dimension of the dynamic of space. As the nature is moving, time is moving.

Time is never over, and it never goes anywhere.
Update 9 hours later: Humans have the ability to remember the past and anticipate the future. Time is a concept, created for the purpose of understanding, and using this ability, and as a means of communicating about change.

Time comes from the Big Bang. It will end in a Black Hole. The whole of the universe will be sucked into the hole and time will end. Then there will be another Big Bang ad infinitum and beyond!
