Why was this teacher listening to to my conversation?

I'm a aide in school and I was speaking to this lady a few months ago about something and this teacher (male) was listening and watching us while we talked. He came in to get food but didn't even leave or eat until we were done. What was his problem?

    So what were you talking about? Who was "this lady"? Were you acting in a professional capacity as an aide? Or something personal? And what were you actually talking about? Maybe it was interesting to him.
